Pierre is trained in classical piano, guitar and saxophone.  He is also a songwriter and singer. 

Born in Belgium in 1956, Pierre first started composing piano pieces as well as songs in his teens.  Through his twenties he performed his own music at cabarets in Brussels as well as touring with various choir groups.  He took a break from music to pursue a career in IT. 

However, since immigrating to New Zealand in the early nineties, Pierre has focused on music again, primarily composing, arranging and recording.

He has released 2 CDs: 
Nouveau Piano was his debut album and was released in 2002 and 
When The Tide Turns has just been released in August 2003.

While Nouveau Piano is a piano-led, mainly instrumental CD, When The Tide Turns has got more guitars and more vocals. 

In his latest creation "When The tide Turns", Pierre Wauters confirms his  unique musical style and extraordinary talent.  Between songs and instrumental music, with interlaced French and English lyrics, jazzy, groovy, upbeat at the same time as classical, relaxing and soothing, passionate always, thought provoking and humorous often, different definitely, Pierre's music resides in that uncrowded land between the 'mainstream' and the 'alternative'.  No conventional versus/chorus/bridge structure, no endless repetitions, but rather big long swells of unleashed inspiration. 

This is music for those gourmets who like BIG portions.
